Job Description

Job Description Summary:

GDIT is seeking an experienced Cyber Infrastructure Chief Engineer to join its Intelligence and Homeland Security (IHS) Group to become part of a highly visible and strategic Cybersecurity Task Order in Arlington, VA.  In this role the successful candidate will have overall awareness of the IT infrastructure of the government environments. 

The qualified candidate will perform the following tasks:

  • Designs and configures cloud architecture, configures cloud integration efforts, and implement plans for hosting complex application workloads
  • Acts as technical liaison between operations teams, engineers, and architects, providing critical operational insight to upcoming implementations and strategies, including validation of ongoing solutions supportability
  • Evaluate existing portfolios and establish roadmaps initiatives
  • Develops/maintains systems configurations and executes administration and operational duties on computer systems while maintaining data/information as required
  • Provide productivity, service level, and key performance metrics in support of business objective
  • Develops an effective and workable framework for managing and improving customer IT support in the organization
  • Continuously review reporting requirements and current data collection methods to ensure efficiency
  • Strong domain knowledge and expertise in one or more technical areas within the work requirements (Cloud design and implementation, Cybersecurity, Agile/DevSecOps software development methodology, Network engineering
  • Work with teams to collaborate on the most efficient way to report and retrieve data
  • Participate in the IT Change Management process, including drafting plans, system testing and application of controls for all updates made to a test or production environment
  • Experience driving discussions with senior government personnel regarding trade-offs, best practices, project management and risk mitigation
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with stakeholders and business owners to provide guidance and recommendations on improving IT infrastructure
  • A proactive approach to identifying issues and problems, areas for improvement, and performance bottlenecks along with an ability to offer and implement solutions to address these.
  • Skilled at directing a large team and executing responsibilities without direct supervisor

Required Qualifications:

Minimum 20+ years IT experience

Education: Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Systems Engineering, or a related field

Expert knowledge in the following technical areas: cyber security, Agile/DevSecOps software development methodology, network operations or network architecture.
Team leadership experience supporting teams across various geographical locations, remote work and on site with 24x7x365 teams.
 

Must possess at least one of the following certifications:

  • Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC)
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
  • Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP)
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
  • Systems Security Certified Professional (SSCP)
  • Security+
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
  • Amazon Web Services (AWS) Solutions Architect

Desired Qualifications:

  • SAFe/Agile 5.0 or 5.1
  • ITIL 4
  • Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE)
  • Knowledge of or prior experience with the DHS environment
  • Experience with integrating solutions in a multi-vendor environment
Travel Required: 10-25%
