GDIT is seeking a Systems Engineer to support the management and maintenance of all Enterprise Management Tools for a 24/7/365 operations center within a component agency of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). These tools include management and administration of all Microsoft System Center tools including SCCM, SCOM and SCSM products. Tools also include network management tools such as SolarWinds Enterprise Suite, Netcool, and syslog-NG.
Shift Schedule is Wednesday -Sunday 3:00pm-11:30pm
Contract requires US Citizenship and must be able to obtain a Secret clearance
No telecommuting allowed. Must be local to the office.
The Systems Engineer will both proactively and reactively monitor the network infrastructure, critical computing systems, and ENTERPRISE services, overseeing functionality, capacity, and performance. Understand IT Infrastructure and application in general to better manage the clients IT Enterprise.
Server administration of all Servers running the Enterprise Tool Applications
Monitoring Enterprise Tools systems and troubleshooting problems identified
Escalating issues to senior team members as needed
Administration of network monitoring tools including upgrades and fulfilling network management requests.
Troubleshooting and deploying applications to workstations or servers.
Reporting on application, patch, and compliance success
BA/BS or equivalent plus 3+ years relevant experience
Experience using Microsoft System Center tools such as SCCM and SCOM.
Experience administering processes and applications on Linux servers.
3+ years working with Desktop and/or Server incident troubleshooting
Understanding of ITSM and ITIL Framework is a plus
1 of the following or equivalent:
MCSE or MCITP
CCNA or equivalent
CISSP, CEH, or CISA
