The US Postal Service must provide the above service to Postal customers 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Candidates may be required to carry a phone and be on call.  This individual will be expected to work independently or semi-independently with a minimum of guidance or direction.

  • Provide technical support for the DB2 databases.
  • Act as a remote DB2 technical resource
  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills; high proficiency in query performance and tuning, log and monitor interpretation, and analysis and resolution of resource utilization issues
  • Detailed experience with DB2 utilities and database maintenance processing
  • Knowledge and experience with all aspects of DB2 in a z/OS & LUW mainframe environment.
  • Detailed specialized experience to include application knowledge and expertise in such areas as DB2, z/OS Operating System, DB2 upgrade protocols, and practical experience in a highly complex DB2 DataSharing environment.
  • Experienced in developing and conducting technical training. Experience preparing Technical Documentation and DB2 Reports. Experience providing Remote Training for Application DBAs and On-The-Job Support Training to Application DBAs as needed
  • Experienced in monitoring DB2 Production and Test Environments.
  • Experienced in providing operational level database support. Experience partnering with applications in the development of logical database design, sizing, and conversion.
  • Experienced in Performing database monitoring and tuning, including space utilization and resizing.
  • Experienced with DB2 zOS v11 or beyond
  • Resolve and trouble shoot P1\P2 tickets as required
  • THIS POSITION IS 100% REMOTE working 2nd shift M-F 4pm- 12am (ET)


  • A minimum of 7+ years of Oracle experience is required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or associated discipline preferred
  • Strong Experience with: JCL, Parallel SYSPLEX, BMC, QMF, DB2, ZOS & LUW.  (Main knowledge needs to be ZOS), Mainview, SPUFI, NEONs, LOBs, Partitions
  • Experienced in providing quality off-hours on-call support as needed

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: BA/BS preferred or equivalent,

The likely salary range for this position is $76,000 - $114,000, this is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary; rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
