General Dynamics Information Technology – Federal Civilian Division is looking for a Risk Manager (DoD Acquisition) to join our team to support the United States Army Medical Material Development Activity (USAMMDA). This position is based in Frederick, Maryland. The Risk Manager will support the following tasks in support of the Program Support Division.
Participate actively on multiple integrated product teams (IPT), providing the risk management subject matter expertise needed to fulfill the critical planning and execution requirements that contribute to program success.
Assist the IPTs with the risk planning, development/refinement, initiation, and execution for new requirements, projects, procedures, and guidelines.
Facilitate milestone planning by preparing, reviewing, and updating technical briefing materials, documentation, and program schedules relevant to risk management.
Assist in identifying, assessing, developing, and mitigating program risk.
Brief leadership on the status of program risks and recurring risk reports.
Communicate programmatic issues, concerns, and opportunities.
Author risk management SOPs and monitor program activities for consistency with the approved SOPs.
Manage the Project Recon risk management system, coordinating user permissions within the project offices, providing training on an as needed basis, and working with the Government’s application manager to provide new user access and resolve functionality issues with the tool.
Prepare and staff formal risk reports containing analyses and recommendations to leadership as required.
Provide IPT training as needed on risk management processes and procedures.
Lead projects or tasks which involve tracking risk and providing constant status or process oversight.
Participates in special projects as required.
Bachelor’s degree in biological sciences, engineering, management, or a related discipline field or equivalent combination of education, professional training or work experience
8 years of general program management experience and 5 years of relevant program risk management experience.
Experience in project management, engineering management, DoD acquisition, or another related subject of comparable complexity and responsibility.
In-depth knowledge of the Risk Management Guide for DoD Acquisitions and in-depth knowledge of the risk management process (i.e., identifying, analyzing, mitigating, documenting, tracking and reporting risks).
Working knowledge of the acquisition processes and policies as outlined in the DoD 5000 series regulations for product development, production, fielding and sustainment.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
Experience with the use of Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
Ability to obtain T1 (Public Trust)
