The Office of Technology Innovation and Engineering (DS/CTS/TIE) provides cybersecurity consulting and assessment capabilities to both current and future Department of State (DOS) programs that embrace emerging technologies and technologies affecting DOS’ facility security.  The Senior Task manager of TIE, which is a forward looking organization, that will focus on the primary concentration to design and ensure effective implementation of the in depth defense protections that reduce cyber risk to DOS information and information systems. TIE continuously evaluates protections to ensure they remain effective against evolving threats while facilitating the secure adoption of new technologies that empower the Department’s workforce to be more effective in executing U.S. foreign policy. The Senior Task Manager for TIE will establish partnerships, effective collaboration and information sharing across USG. The TIE Front Office oversees two divisions dedicated to the security of emerging technologies and facilities technologies.  The TIE Front Office ensures that all TIE taskers are assigned, tracked and completed.  The Front office is also responsible for ensuring the resources in each division are utilized appropriately. 

The Senior Task Manager will ensure the following listed below:

  • Will perform all duties assigned of a hire people manager for both GDIT employees and all subcontracting partners
  • Ensure cybersecurity posture is applied to all IT Modernization projects (e.g., mobile, cloud) that are currently being introduced to the Diplomatic Security (DS) bureau within the Department of State
  • Oversee Emerging Technologies Division (ETD) and Facilities Technology Division (FTD) services and continuous process improvement activities
  • Develop and enforce the security architecture essential to defend, deter, and detect departmental assets against all cyber threat
  • Maintain cyber knowledge skills and capabilities to keep up with technical needs and future deployments
  • Provide cybersecurity leadership that inspires high performance
  • Encompass the full technology lifecycle to infuse security requirements and best practices into technical solutions. (e.g. cloud adoption, wireless deployment)
  • Oversee the liaisons to USG government entities pertaining to cyber security innovation and implementation
  • Engage in budget and capital planning with contributing and collaborating to the overarching investment control by influence cybersecurity capital planning across DS/CTS and DoS at large
  • Oversee policy development and exception request
  • Prioritize and delegate multiple taskers from the DS/EX using current task tracker to allocate tasks to all of TIE staff
  • Oversee all projects in the entire TIE Office inclusive: TIE Front Office, ETD and FTD

Clearance: Yes.  Interim secret required to start with eligibility to TS/SCI
