Summary

GDIT is looking for a detail oriented Configuration Manager to join our team supporting the Network Enterprise Technology Command (NETCOM) out of Ft. Huachuca, Arizona. The Configuration Manager will be a part of a diverse team supporting a globally distributed information system.

Job Description:

  • Manage the day to day activities of the configuration and change processes, including establishing priorities and work assignments
  • Ensure the configuration management process is documented, introduced, and implemented according to guidelines from the process owner.
  • Lead and support configuration change tracking and documentation control to include, but not limited to concepts of operation, requirements identification and documentation, preliminary and detailed system definition, systems and application interfaces (point-to-point and APIs), system design review, performance monitoring tools, and production software.
  • Conduct change and configuration management at the project and program levels for systems, services, and capabilities developed using traditional and agile methods.
  • Perform audits on CMDB and CIs while keeping it updated.
  • Track compliance to policies and procedures and resolving / escalating any compliance issues
  • Review critical incident outage resolution results, responses, and dispositions of failed changes due to CMS related issues
  • Facilitate communication and engage business and IT management to encourage configuration management efforts and value proposition
  • Engage with strategic projects to ensure Configuration Management can deliver required CMS functionality within project timeframes
  • Review significant IT infrastructure changes to ensure impacts to configuration management data are properly addressed
  • Mentor the organization on Configuration Management services, concepts, policies and procedures
  • Chair the Configuration Control Board (CCB) and enacts changes as directed
  • Lead the development and maintenance of baselines.
  • Apply ITIL methodology and lead configuration management activities
  • Ability to participate in special projects as required
  • May be assigned as a team lead

Education

MA/MS or equivalent years of experience

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of BMC Remedy ticking system, specifically the change and configuration management modules.
  • Experience and knowledge of change management principles, methodologies and tools
  • Ability to clearly articulate messages to a variety of audiences
  • Must be a team player and able to work collaboratively with and through others
  • 10 or more years configuration or change management experience
  • Secret DoD Security Clearance
  • ITIL v4 Foundations within 6 months of hire.
