Job GDIT’s Early Career Program is designed with you in mind!  Our business internship allows you the opportunity to be a part of a collaborative team that is helping to solve our client’s most complex issues. Throughout GDIT’s 10-week summer internship program, you will work on innovative projects that touch areas such as Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, Proposal Writing, Consulting, and other related areas depending on your background and interest. As an intern, you will have real responsibilities and work alongside experienced and innovative industry professionals.  Your internship experience will equip you with best in class skills to take back to the classroom.


In this role, you will support our IT communications strategy for 30,000 employees through employee newsletters, employee intranet, digital signage, and other communication vehicles, ensuring that content remains current, informative and appealing to employees.

You’ll bring expertise and passion for employees as your customer, and act as a guide to co-create a better workplace with marketing and brand, human resources, information technology and other functional partners.

Tasks and responsibilities in this role include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Support coordination of internal communications and help execute overall internal communications strategy
  • Write and edit communications
  • Partner with multiple stakeholders on the development, execution, measurement and refinement of communication plans
  • Create and position content across communications channels (intranet, email, digital signage, employee meetings and events)
  • Research best practices and help create fun, dynamic features to engage employees across company platforms
  • Help maintain internal communications master schedule and archives

For consideration, you must meet these qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing an Associate's or Bachelor's degree from a United States-based college or university with a communications major
  • Strong writing and editing skills
  • Passion for technology
  • Collaborative approach to work and interactions
  • Demonstrates decision-making skills
  • Intuitive with an ability to identify and solve complex problems
