This role is primarily responsible for leading design implementation and coordinated support of virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) systems in a mission-critical environment.  Candidates should have an understanding of the VMWare environment, as well as, experience creating and maintaining high-availability VDI solutions.  The ideal candidate will also have experience with Hyper Converged/Converged Infrastructure and a deep expertise in technical and security process design. Additionally, the VDI Engineer lead will lead the team to evaluate the existing desktop/VDI platform, build a technical transition plan, and work with a the government/local support team to design, test, and to support implementation and transition the VDI upgrade based on Windows, Citrix/Vmware, and WYSE thin client workstations. In addition, the VDI Engineer Lead will work and collaborate with our infrastructure/Cybersecurity team to ensure that the VDI solution is documented, maintained, and ready to be risk assessed as part of a network accreditation process. This will involve scanning, patching, and documenting the VDI solution for production

  • Designs and defines system architecture for new or existing computer systems
  • Analyze user's requirements, concept of operations documents, and high level system architectures to develop system requirements specifications
  • Analyze system requirements and leads design and development activities
  • Guide users in formulating requirements, advises alternative approaches, and conducts feasibility studies
  • Provide technical leadership for the integration of requirements, design, and technology
  • Incorporate new plans, designs and systems into ongoing operations
  • Develop system architecture and system design documentation
  • Guide system development and implementation planning through assessment or preparation of system engineering management plans and system integration and test plans
  • Interact with the Government regarding Systems Engineering technical considerations and for associated problems, issues or conflicts
  • Responsible for the technical integrity of work performed and deliverables associated with the Systems Engineering area of responsibility
  • Communicate with other program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives
  • Active TS/SCI clearance and ability to obtain and maintain a CI poly
  • 8570 compliance, IAT Level II certification
  • DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: BA/BS (or equivalent experience), 10+ years of experience
