Job Description
GDIT’s Military Health team is hiring a Project Analyst in support of the National Intrepid Center of Excellence (NICoE) and the Defense Intrepid Network (DIN) which is dedicated to improving the lives of patients and families affected by traumatic brain injury (TBI) through collaborative efforts with patients, families, referring providers, and researchers.  

The purpose of this position is to assist in the management and facilitation of essential research information between NICoE and stakeholders. Provides background research, literature searches and information in the development of research related items such as: literature reviews, research reviews, Information Papers, executive summaries, abstracts, presentations, manuscripts, podcasts. Assists in the development of various research databases; participates in analysis and interpretation of data and with the preparation of technical reports, summaries and manuscripts. Demonstrates clear understanding of clinical research procedures and methodologies. Develops and/or maintains professional relationships with other stakeholders of TBI- related research activities.HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
  • Provides analytic support to the Headquarters of a network of clinical, research and education sites focused on TBI clinical care and research.
  • Provides input on operational procedures to increase efficiency, productivity and make overall improvements for the program.
  • Assists in conducting in depth literature searches and reviews specific to TBI related topics with particular emphasis on emerging technology and developments in TBI clinical research. Provides concise written reports and summaries.
  • Participates in the development of research abstracts, posters, presentations, reports, manuscripts.
  • Attends and presents research findings at conferences and meetings as appropriate.
  • Supports TBI clinical operations and research studies that are in alignment with DoD’s identified TBI research gaps and priorities as well as ensuring compliance with all regulatory bodies.
  • Develops and/or maintains professional relationships with other stakeholders.
  • Facilitates the flow and approval processes for relevant projects as needed or requested.
  • Independently generates reports and briefings as requested by government leadership.
  • Facilitates the collection of quality data from various studies or agencies.
  • Coordinates meetings as needed, for example, with the Service POCs and other agencies for TBI.
  • Works collaboratively with team members.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
  • Education: Bachelors in public health neuroscience, social sciences or related field required
  • Required Experience: 2+ years of professional experience providing analytic support to clinicians, scientists, or researchers.
  • Must complete CITI/ HIPAA training.
  • Required Technical Skills:  Excellent oral, written and analytic skills required.
  • Proficient with a multitude of Windows based, email and internet computer applications, including but not limited to Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint, as well as research statistical programs.
  • Experience preparing and analyzing data files for research abstracts, reports, manuscripts, and presentations; authorship on publications in peer reviewed medical/ scientific journals highly preferred. Excellent organizational and time management skills required.
  • Knowledge related to program/ project improvement program evaluations, process improvements, improving quality, reducing costs and establishing appropriate process metrics and process controls desired. S/he must adhere to legal, professional and ethical codes with respect to confidentiality and privacy.
  • Required Skills and Abilities:  Physical Capabilities: Must be able to sit and stand for long periods of time. Must be able to carry light items up to 25 lbs. May encounter patients who are confused, agitated, or abusive.
  • Preferred Skills: Knowledge of research statistical programs such as SPSS/ SAS preferred.
  • Experience within similar work setting in Department of Defense preferred.
  • Location: Bethesda, MD
  • Security Clearance Level: ability to obtain a favorable Secret security clearance.
  • US Citizenship Required: Must be a US citizen.
