The IT System Technician:

  • Contributes to the completion of major programs and projects.
  • Provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems.
  • Provides installation and troubleshooting support of a range of complex issues for systems applications and related peripheral hardware.
  • Provides incident response and performs complex customer support tasks.
  • Deploys a wide variety of new hardware, software, and the upgrade of existing installations.
  • Prepares and maintains a wide range of documentation for processes and procedure related to computer systems and operations.


The successful candidate shall possess:

  • A DoD-issued Top Secret clearance based on a T5 (or equivalent) investigation with the ability to attain SCI-eligibility
  • Four (4) years of experience in local/wide area networks, workstation/ personal computer installation and maintenance, installation and maintenance of application software
  • An Associates degree from an accredited institution. Two (2) additional years of experience above the four (4) mentioned above can be used in lieu of the education requirement
  • Experience maintaining development and production systems
  • Experience installing and configuring LAN interface, Ethernet, Fast Ethernet and Giga Bit Ethernet interfaces on computer systems and network switches
  • Experience performing internet processes and system administer processes
  • Experience developing installation project plans; performing new hardware research and recommendations
  • Experience creating system documents to document laboratory and customer network configurations
  • Experience with the installation, maintenance, configuration, and integrity of computer software and implementing operating system enhancements that will improve the reliability and performance of the deployed systems
