HOW A LINUX SYSTEMS ENGINEER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
● Designs and defines system architecture for new or existing computer systems
● Coordinates system development to include design, modeling, security, integration, and formal testing
● Contributes to completion of major engineering programs and projects
● Develops solutions to a variety of highly complex engineering problems
● Oversees highly complex infrastructure including installing, configuring, testing, and maintaining operating systems, application software, and system management tools
● Performs continual maintenance and provides highly complex solutions for security, backup, and redundancy problems
● Prepares and maintains documentation for processes and procedures related to engineering projects
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
● Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or other related analytical, scientific, or technical discipline
● Required Experience: 8+ years of related experience
● Required Technical Skills: Strong experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux; experience with NFS, AD/LDAP integration, Web Servers, certificates, LVM, VMware, Linux security hardening, Red Hat Satellite Server, Cloud and/or Hybrid-Cloud deployments, configuring storage over Fiber Channel
● Security Clearance Level: TS/SCI with Polygraph
● Required Skills and Abilities: Works independently under limited supervision, possess current DoD IAT II Level certification
● Preferred Skills: Experience with BASH Scripting, kickstart deployments, Big Data solutions, Nutanix, Splunk, AWS/Azure, and/or HPE storage solutions
● Location: On Customer Site
