Software Quality Assurance Specialist/Applications Tester, with Polygraph

At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As an Applications Tester supporting the customer, you will assist in the testing and evaluation of a variety of software and web based processes. The ideal candidate enjoys working across teams in an experimental, idea-filled culture. In this role, a typical day will include:

• Developing and implementing quality control methodologies to ensure high-quality products
• Developing and executing software test plans to identify problems and their causes
• Establishing and maintaining processes for evaluating software and associated documentation
• Participating in formal and informal reviews at pre-determined points throughout the development life cycle

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
  • Minimum of 15 years related experience or relevant combination of education and experience.
  • Familiarity with various SDLC methodologies, including but not limited to Agile
  • A deep understanding of different software testing methodologies
  • Strong experience with automated testing tools, and an ability to conduct manual testing when necessary
  • Experience working as part of an Agile team utilizing Scrum, Kanban, or other Agile methodologies
  • Experience with the DevSecOps pipeline projects
  • Experience running automated tests for web front ends, web services, APIs, and databases
  • Strong experience documenting technical processes in repositories including but not limited to Git
  • Excellent communication skills, especially the ability to explain complex technical issues to a nontechnical audience
  • Intellectual curiosity, creativity, and motivation to deliver the best solution to complex problems
  • A team player works well in a customer-focused and collaborative environment
  • Must stay up-to-date with industry standards for technological enhancements and changes, and to propose changes to internal processes as deemed feasible and appropriate
  • Security Clearance Level: Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Experience testing commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) products
• Experience with accessibility and performance testing
• Experience with ETL processes
• Familiarity with AWS infrastructure and its native data science capabilities
• Experience with relational databases, ideally Oracle using SQL
• Experience manipulating large datasets (e.g. R, SAS, etc.)

Implements, manages and enhances Continuous Integration and Delivery (CI/CD) pipeline tools.

Creates, maintains, and reviews Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Desired State Configuration (DSC) and/or Puppet configuration management tools to support the provisioning infrastructure.

Provides system/equipment/specialized training and technical guidance.

Recognized as a subject matter expert in a specific technology.
