Our work depends on a Back-End Developer joining our team to support one of our federal customers in Rockville, MD.

At GDIT, we foster a people-centric environment. GDIT is looking for a SharePoint Developer / Administrator to support a client’s migration initiative for approximately 20 site collections of varying size and complexity, to SharePoint online from SharePoint 2016. This candidate will lead the migration and deliver innovative solutions for improving the effectiveness, reach, and content for the user community. Primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Discover and assess the current SharePoint 2016 environment for migration to SharePoint Online. Prepare associated outcome and detailed migration plan.
  • Develop specific SPO architecture design and documentation.
  • Develop a migration plan to SPO which includes the transition of all Nintex workflows to a new platform.
  • Execute the migration plan to SPO.
  • Support user acceptance testing and remediate issues found.
  • Train site owners and other key stakeholders.
  • Provide documentation associated with the project to client stakeholders.
  • Remediate identified issues during the implementation.
  • Transition site ownership once the migration is complete.
  • Support O&M activities.
  • Administer a multi-site SharePoint implementation, including but not limited to monitoring, patching, service requests, incidents, and other DevOps support tasks.
  • Define, design, and implement SharePoint based solutions in collaboration with project team members, consultants, contractors, users, and business process owners.
  • Participate in broad independent interactions with all levels of personnel.
  • Perform tier 3 support and troubleshooting tasks for SharePoint. Tasks include performing work on service requests, incidents, maintenance activities, and other DevOps support tasks. (Troubleshoots and manages resolution of operational problems for assigned software or hardware technologies.)
  • Build understanding of communications and collaboration technologies within the organization through the creation of self-service options.
  • Lead and direct others in the overall administration of the SharePoint platform
  • Maintain up-to-date awareness of industry developments and best practices.
  • Manage tasks within a project plan using standard Infrastructure methodology (EPLC).
  • Participate in post-implementation reviews to identify opportunities to continually improve processes.
  • Automate repetitive tasks using tools such as Power Automate
  • Deep understanding of the overall platform
  • Architecture experience

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • Bachelor’s or equivalent in in computer science/systems, information systems/technology, engineering/engineering technology, software engineering/programming, management, natural sciences, social sciences, mathematics, or health.
  • 10+ years of development experience.
  • Microsoft Solutions Developer or Power Platform certification preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge and experience with SharePoint Online.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft applications, such as, Active Directory, MS PKI, or Office 365
  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience with SharePoint as a SharePoint System Administrator in a large complex environment or similar equivalent experience.
  • Experience developing custom solutions with SharePoint or other comparable platforms or languages.
  • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills for complex problems.
  • Proficient interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills necessary to effectively collaborate as part of a cohesive development team working with multiple customers and organizations simultaneously with time constraints and present and explain technical information to others.
