GDIT is searching for a Scientist to support research, diagnostics, and surveillance activities with the CDC in Atlanta GA. Specifically his position is to perform scientific research work to investigate human immune responses to seasonal and animal influenza viruses in order to develop influenza vaccine strategies, evaluate the pandemic potential of novel influenza viruses. The incumbent will participate in the basic and applied research in unexplored areas related to the evaluation of human immune response to influenza vaccination and infection.
This position requires the incumbent to work in Biosafety level (BSL)-2, BSL-2 Enhanced, and BSL-3 Enhanced laboratories ,training may be available to a candidate who meets all other requirements.
The ideal candidates will have a working knowledge of compliance with industry standards and best practices for working in a regulated laboratory and specifically BSL-2 and possibly BSL-3 High Containment facility. Employees in this classification may be required to work with, take specific precautions against and/or be immunized against potentially hazardous agents. The position is located in Atlanta, Georgia.
