Systems Administrator, located in Bahrain
This position provides technical support services for the Consolidated Afloat Networks and Enterprise Services (CANES) capabilities aboard the Military Sealift Command (MSC) fleet of ships. It is a forward deployed position in Bahrain.
This position is responsible for direct technical work on Program of Record (POR) MSC ships. Works independently and installs, operates, maintains, configures, troubleshoots, and repairs IT systems devices, circuits, cables, components, software, and end-user devices, components, software and connectivity. Assists in the development and management of project plans. This includes the review of task performance and work products for correctness, for adherence to design concepts and user requirements, and for progress IAW schedules. Coordinates with the Contractor's project manager, and Government user representatives to ensure accurate solutions and user satisfaction on technical matters.
Job Requirements:
Progressive IT experience (5 years) including at least three (3) projects related to CANES. Additional systems expertise should include the MSC C4 Systems. At least one (1) project must have occurred within the past three (3) years related to CANES.
• Must possess current IAT II or higher security certification in accordance with DoD 8570.01M, and be able to get appropriate Computing Environment training within 6 months of hire
• Must have 5 years or more of progressive IT experience in an enterprise-scale environment, with SME-level knowledge of CANES
• Must be able to work overtime as required to meet ship’s schedules.
• Must be able to take ship rides if needed for critical work efforts
• Must be able to drive a car to destinations as needed
• Must hold a SECRET clearance
