General Dynamics Information Technology is seeking a Help Desk Specialist who holds an active DOD secret clearance at Scott Air Force Base.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Install, modify, and repair computer hardware and software both in person and through the use of remote access tools.

  • Provides end-user software and hardware troubleshooting.

  • Applies basic diagnostic techniques to identify problems, investigate causes, and recommend solutions.

  • Assists in the administration of e-mail, Microsoft office, etc.

  • Provides remote support access through desktop mirroring and other remote access applications for worldwide sites.

The candidate would resolve technical problems and answers queries by telephone or self-service ticket in support of internal and/or outside customer computer hardware, software, network, system/application access, and telecommunications systems. Diagnoses, identifies, isolates, and analyzes problems utilizing historical database records. May route calls to product line specialists, application, or system support specialists. Maintains and updates records and tracking databases. Alerts management to recurring problems and patterns of problems.


  • Active DOD secret clearance.

  • AA or equivalent + 5 years related experience with help desk.

  • Must have an IA Level 2 - Security + CE.

  • Onsite at Scott Air Force Base.
