The System Analyst – Performance conducts a wide variety of tasks developing, maintaining and integrating specialized mathematical-based modeling and simulation, as well as analyzing results of mathematic modeling to develop requirements for the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS) in a model based systems engineering environment (MBSE).  Modeling and simulation tasks drive end-to-end performance analysis of the Missile Defense System.  Individual will also participate in the development, updating, and benchmarking/anchoring of M&S tools to support system analysis tasks. Individual will conduct technical meetings with government and industry subject matter experts to analyze and formulate performance and functional requirements for system-of-system level specifications.  This position is in Huntsville, AL. Secret clearance required.

Required Qualifications:    Individual must have a demonstrated technical background in numerical modeling and simulation using a high level programming language such as MATLAB, or similar language environment.  Must possess software development experience with languages such as C++, C#, Python or Java.  Candidate must demonstrate ability to think critically to develop and capture concepts in technical papers, presentations, and discussions. Individual must possess good oral and written communication skills.  Capable of working in focused teams as an independent individual contributor.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Degree and experience in an engineering classification, mathematics or physics: Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD.

Demonstrated experience modeling or simulating missile defense applications or similar domains (air combat, air defense, intercept of ballistic targets, intercept of non-ballistic targets, space vehicles, sub-orbital mechanics, etc.).  Knowledge of ballistic and advanced threat systems ((e.g., aero-maneuvering, hypersonic, hyper-glide, countermeasures, etc.), a discriminator in selection.  Modeling and analysis experience in aspects of the Ballistic missile defense system (e.g., Aegis Weapons Systems, Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD), Fire Control, C2BMC, BMDS sensors (EO/IR/RF), kill vehicles, interceptors, countermeasures, etc.). Systems engineering experience with large, complex systems.   Experience with DOORS and/or MBSE processes a plus. We are GDIT.
