Sailor 2025 is a program focused on three core pillars – Personnel System Modernization; Ready Relevant Learning (RRL); and Career Readiness. The second pillar Ready, Relevant Learning (RRL) deals primarily with doing away with the old way of brick and mortar schoolhouses, or industrial age training, and replacing the curriculum with career-long learning continuums where training is delivered by modern methods to enable faster learning, better knowledge retention, and delivery at the right time and in the right way for our Sailors. This job opportunity's objective is the creation and delivery of products in support of the Sailor 2025 (S2025) Ready Relevant Learning (RRL) Content Conversion Wave 1 effort.


Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Managing and monitoring all installed systems and infrastructure
  • Installing, configuring, testing and maintaining operating systems, application software and system management tools
  • Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions, and work with developers to implement those fixes
  • Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies
  • Assist Team GDIT with Systems Engineering Technical Review (SETR) process to include, but not limited to:
    • System Engineering Plan (SEP) support
    • Participation of SE events (e.g., SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR) and completion of SE requirements and deliverables
    • Familiar with Model-centric engineering
    • Completion of SETR checklists and Request for Action forms
  • Working in an integrated product team (IPT) environment for the development of advanced learning solutions.

BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject

  • 2+ years proven working experience as a systems engineer
  • In-depth familiarity with SETR Process
  • Recommend:
    • Previous experience with the SETR process involving Instructional Development projects
    • Previous experience with Navy curriculum
    • Familiarity with virtual/augmented reality (VR/AR), virtual simulations (VS), VS with hardware, system simulation, Multipurpose Reconfigurable Training System (MRTS), and game engines
  • Excellent written communication skills are a requirement of employment
  • Candidate must be a US citizen. Prefer a qualifying background investigation (NACLC or higher) within the last 10 years to meet eligibility requirements for an IT Level II Common Access Card (CAC)
  • Active security clearance required
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision as well as coordinate with an IPT
