Must be able to obtain a Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Public Trust Suitability (Full/Final) is required to start. Candidates with a Top Secret can (in most cases) get reciprocity for a Full/Final CBP Public Trust Suitability. US Citizenship required.
Our team works 100% remote, but candidates must have the ability to go onsite (Ashburn, VA) occasionally.
HOW SENIOR SECURITY ENGINEER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
Seize your opportunity to make a personal impact as a Security Engineer supporting a Customs Border Protection (CBP) project. We are an established team recruiting for a new team member to join the team!
As a member of the Audit Team you will safeguard the federal government information systems assets.
Design and automate processes that support ISSOs, such as system log management and intrusion detection processes
Create dashboards to assess information about security findings
Manage system certifications
Your experience collaborating with auditors and regulatory personnel will ensure compliance with security regulations and standards
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED
Required Skills and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree plus 5 years of professional experience in the IT industry
Familiarity with Security practices and principles; prior experience interfacing with ISSOs
Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools
Experience with Python
Understanding of REST API design and implementation
Knowledgeable in PKI certificate management
Familiar with Cloud/Containerization technologies
Experience with Business Intelligence and Analytics tools (Microsoft Power BI, SAP Business Objects, Tableau or similar)
Preferred Skills and Experience:
Experienced with Splunk and ELK stack for log management and data analysis
Knowledgeable in Vulnerability Management practices and tools
Skilled in Secure Code Reviews

Salary and Benefit Information
The likely salary range for this position is $117,600 - $176,400. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
