REQ#: RQ135426

Travel Required: None
Requisition Type: Regular

General Dynamics Information Technology has an immediate opening for a Space and Satellite Systems Engineer with a RF background focusing on asset inheritance, system of systems interoperability, enterprise level test plan/report/procedure execution, mission CONOPS development, analysis and planning, and requirements verification.  This individual must be adaptable and flexible enough to fit mission needs with an intrinsic ability to engage, learn, and share knowledge.  This position is not daily operations as partner organizations complete the actual day-to-day operations, but a percentage of future time may require satellite mission planning.  This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation's core defense/intelligence services and systems in a fascinating environment leading a team.  General Dynamics Information Technology employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.

The Space/Satellite System Engineer will be part of a small team that supports a larger program. This small team through a keen understanding of mission purpose and system capability monitors and analyzes various overhead sensing platforms as well as associated ground systems and networks. As system capabilities are added or enhanced, the engineer will assist the team to understand if these enhancements continue to support mission requirements. The ability to review software plus system requirements, then plan and execute enterprise level testing may be required with discrepancies and gap analysis fed back into the SAFe development lifecycle.  The engineer may also provide technical assistance in the development of next generation programs by creating day-in-the-life scenarios, contributing to overall mission CONOPs, and share lessons learned with the wider organization. The engineer will work directly with the team lead, SETAs, and customer.

This position is within the customer work environment and requires a calm demeanor, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to act with technical precision and speed.
