GDIT’s DOJ/OJP team is looking for a dynamic and experienced Data Scientist to guide and build our client's Data management Center of Excellence. Our client is engaging in a significant overhaul of its legacy IT environment and approach. You, as the Data Scientist, will play a pivotal role in the planning and execution of this modernization effort. While working closely with senior Federal staff, you will design and implement the foundation on which OJP will build its future systems.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Extensive experience in data mining and statistical analysis, e.g., descriptive and predictive modeling.
Understanding of various data structures and common methods in data transformation.
Proficiency in data processing and statistical programming using R, SAS and SQL.
Expert level Experience in use of Tableau and Esri
Experience in use of other data visualization tools such as SAS Visual Analytics and Socrata
A demonstrated history of hands-on experience in quantitative analysis and statistical modeling.
A demonstrated history of working in large enterprise level applications.
Experience in working with database applications and SQL.
Ability to work with various stakeholders with different technical abilities to gather data requirements.
Experience working in cloud environments.
Experience working in Agile development environments.
A track record of delivery in challenging, face-paced environments
BS or equivalent + 10 yrs related experience, or MS + 8 yrs related experience.
Programming experience in Java/Python and hands on knowledge with API developer tool is a plus.
Familiarity with big data concepts and approaches. examples include, the Hadoop ecosystem and related technical stack (i.e. HDFS, Hive, Spark)
Familiarity with cloud-based tooling, for example AWS RedShift, AWS EMR, Azure Data Lake Analytics etc.
Contract Requires US Citizenship
Must be able to obtain and maintain an Agency specific Public Trust clearance
