The Systems Administrator team member will be responsible for support of a large Java/Java Enterprise Edition (JEE) media forensics application, Transit. The scope of this role includes both functional and technical support. Activities include but are not limited to:

Answering functional questions regarding the application from both end0users and development team members who may be coding interfaces to the application Installation and administration of Transit components Monitoring Transit components including application, middleware and database to ensure proper functioning and adequate performance Troubleshooting and communicating potential issues with Pixel Forensics staff and on-site team members Enhancing and automating support tools Documenting support processes and tools


A candidate must be expertly skilled in Linux with proficiencies with one or more scripting tools (Python, PowerShell, Shell scripting), as well as Java and JavaScript. The successful candidate, who should possess a working knowledge of Java EE application servers, must also have direct experience in one or more of the following:


  • Managing server resources in a VMWare/VSphere environment
  • Performing upgrades and product updates as appropriate
  • Monitoring and proactive identification of constrained resources


  • Working knowledge of NetApp storage architecture
  • Performing upgrades and product updates as appropriate
  • Direct experience with Data on Tap and Command Line interface


  • Familiarity and firsthand knowledge of our customer’s AWS/C2S environment

Server/Resource Automation

  • Experience with automations tools such as Puppet and Ansible (preferably Ansible and/or Ansible Tower)
  • Knowledge and experience with Cloud Formation and C2S Automation technics

Hardware/Networking Experiences

  • Direct experience with HP’s C7000 and/or Apollo architectures
  • Ability to maintain and implement networking updates and configuration
  • Knowledge and experience of Cisco networking and configuration
