Field Network Engineer - Project Advisor Fort Shafter, Hawaii. Successful candidates will need to have an active Secret Clearance and be able to obtain TS/SCI clearance.

As the selected Network Field Engineer, you will be responsible for the following, but not limited to providing embedded support at customer location.  Coordinate with USAPAC Telecommunication Rooms (TR) management all related and required task.  May propose solutions to management to ensure all communications requirements based on future needs and current usage, configuring such solutions to optimize cost savings. bridges, gateways, etc.  Provides regular monitoring and network analysis regarding short- and long-range planning for in-house systems.  May coordinate third-party maintenance for network equipment. May design network or portion of network that includes selection and recommendation of hardware and software packages. Interpret design plans provided by the customer.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure that all work performed is complete and in compliance with US government and industry standards.
• Collect reports from teams in outlying areas, compile submit weekly activity reports and other report required by the customer.
• Keep the Project Supervisor inform on all area concerning, customer needs and team’s members performance.
• Provide guidance, assign task when required and monitor teams daily activities.
• Ensure that all team possess and maintain certification and the level of proficiency to perform their task.
• Conduct Site Survey to prepare for network upgrades, produce distinctive work packages for implementation actions and provide engineering and supporting documentation.
• Prepare or ensure that appropriate network documentation exists, including operational instructions.
• Engineer new designs to resolve cabinet management and network device issues
• Assist team with testing of network hardware at different locations throughout USAPAC area of responsibility.
• Prepare floor space diagrams, rack equipment diagrams, connectivity tables, and installation checklists, distribute to teams.  
• Plan, deploy, install, test, troubleshoot and repair standard network infrastructure systems.
• Assist teams with the installation and/or removal of equipment into a rack or cabinet, cable ladder, patch panels, network devices and the interface cables to facilitate required interconnectivity. 
• Troubleshoot and repair network connectivity on numerous devices, to include routers and switches in a telecommunications room.
• Organize network rooms and work with customer to upgrade network equipment throughout USAPAC area of responsibility.
• Plan, evaluate, design, and coordinate installation and/or reconfiguration of hardware and software elements of data and/or voice communication network.
• Implement Cable management, verify all labels and update/generate documentation.
• Maintain technical expertise in all areas of networks and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, switchers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc.
• Install and maintain network facilities, including hardware, software, and system data for small networks.
• Provide escort to vendors or personnel to TRs or other Secure Areas.
• Candidate is required to perform other additional duties in support the Contract.
• Maintain current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned
• May coach and provide guidance to less-experienced professionals
• May serve as a team or task lead

Education And Experience:

• BA/BS or equivalent, 2+ years of experience

Qualifications:

• Must have a current and active Secret clearance and be able to TS/SCI Clearance
• Must be IAT level III compliant with DoD 8570.1.
• Must be able obtain Level 4 Badge
• Candidate is required to maintain IT Certification up-to-date.
• Must be able to work without supervision.
• Knowledgeable utilizing the Microsoft applications such as, Visio, Word, and Excel.
• Travel is required.

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience with Telecommunication Room Remediation, Network Migration, LCR Life Cycle Replacement, and Help Desk Remedy
