High school/vocational school diploma or GED certificate, and fifteen (15) years of full-time professional experience working as an Engineering Technician in providing technical support related to the design, development, production, or testing of shipboard systems. It is desired that this should include ten years full-time hands-on experience in installation, troubleshooting, repairing, and/or testing of any one major shipboard system/equipment. The requirement for full time experience precludes concurrent experience on more than one system/equipment unless they are all equivalent in complexity and maintenance philosophy.

An Associate’s level degree in any engineering discipline or a Bachelor’s level degree in Engineering Technology and an additional eight (8) years of general professional experience in providing technical support related to the design, development, production, or testing of shipboard systems may be substituted for the professional experience requirements cited above. Personnel must be certified in Security+ at a minimum and certified SYSADMIN in one, or more of the following Operating Systems: Windows, Linux and/or Sun-Solaris.

ET V with Security+ and operating system certification.  TS SCI Eligible
