Our work depends on an OSP Engineer joining our team to support the Army customers in various locations.

In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Supervise OSP workers and manage designated location safety and OSP installations.

  • Technicians will be the Team Lead/Attendant on locations appointed to them by Site Manager. 

  • Functions as an OSP technical expert, advising on solutions and trouble-shoots and identifies / solves problems

  • Under limited direction, assist with and conduct infrastructure audits, assessments, designs, and implementation. 

  • Perform with site surveys and document current site OSP ducting, cabling, and power/ground circuits, equipment and racking inventory, and user requirements

  • Follow engineering installation packages and work with installation team

  • Assist with other related equipment installation, signal cable installations and cable connections and labeling.

  • Assist with documenting related changes at each site 

  • Consistent and reliable attendance required 

  • Heavy travel to customer sites necessary 

  • Understand and adhere to all Ethical and Compliance policies 

  • Proactively ensuring a safe work environment and adhering to all EH&S policies and procedures.

  • Will maintain safety documentation and redlines while survey team is surveying fiber routes

  • Perform other duties as required 


  • Knowledge of Microsoft software applications and other software applications as required (Visio, PowerPoint, Word, Excel)

  • Attention to detail is required and aid in the survey/designing the OSP infrastructure 

  • Willing to learn complex OSP design and implementation 

  • Experience testing power and cabling related to equipment/systems and following standard test procedures, desired 

  • Experience in using common test equipment (e.g. Grounding Meter, Optical Power Meter, Cat 5/6 test set, Multi-Meter), helpful 

  • Experience in outside plant cabling

  • Requires extensive travel (75%)

  • HS Diploma and 5+ years of related experience

  • Experience following direction and working in a team environment

  • Pass GDIT background screening

Working Conditions:

  • Work is performed both in and office or communications room environment and outside, requiring proper safety precautions 

  • Work may require some physical effort in the handling of light materials, boxes, or equipment

  • Occasional work in tight or narrow spaces, such as under raised floors may be required - Must be able to stoop, kneel, or crouch for long periods of time

The likely hourly rate for this position is between $24.56 - $41.01, this is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary; rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
