At GDIT, people are our differentiator. We are seeking a Sr. Cyber Security Engineer to join our team to support NIAID activities. You will provide support to our 4500 User communit and infrastructure support teams. You will support NIAID’s critical scientific and business activities related to infrastructure, clinical and laboratory science, computational science, and hosted application delivery. You will be part of team consisting of 14 team members supporting NIAID’s technical security program.
Tasks and responsibilities in this role include, but are not limited to the following:
Install, implement, administer, monitor, and maintain security infrastructure technology solutions which include - security information and event management, anti-malware, intrusion detection, vulnerability assessment, network access control and firewalls.
Collaborate with team members to architect secure solutions to complex technological problems
Evaluate security products and recommend solutions for control enhancement
Develop detailed implementation and test plans for implementing security technologies
Investigate and respond to security events and potential incidents in accordance with prescribed procedures.
Drive the mitigation of security related findings to ensure appropriate progress within recommended time frame.
BS degree or equivalent and eight years experience or a MS and six years experience
Five years experience working as a network security engineer
Expert level experience with one or more of the following tools:
Palo Alto and/or Cisco FirePOWER firewalls
Splunk Enterprise Security
Tenable Nessus Security Center
ForeScout Network Access Control (NAC)
McAfee and/or Sophos Anti-virus
Cylance Threat Protection
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Experience in troubleshooting and solving complex information security issues
Ability to obtain a NIH Public Trust
CISSP, GIAC or relevant Cisco Certifications
