Job Description

System Support Specialist:

HOW A SYSTEM SUPPORT SPECIALIST WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

Provides installation, maintenance and troubleshooting support of information systems applications and related peripheral hardware.

  • Monitors and responds to hardware and software problems utilizing a variety of hardware and software testing tools and techniques.
  • Installs and configures applications software and related hardware (such as desktops, servers, and related peripherals like printers, scanners, drives, monitors and video teleconferencing hardware).
  • Provides software and system troubleshooting and support.
  • Provides technical support and training to end-users.
  • Administers Network Security.
  • Backs up file server data.
  • Provides minor to moderately complex server maintenance.
  • Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.
  • Participates in special projects as required.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in network troubleshooting and support.
  • Knowledge of routers, switches, patch panels, concentrators, associated terminals, and related network hardware and software.
  • Knowledge of desktop operating systems and applications.
  • Professional Certification in one or more specific technologies may be required to meet DoD Approved RMF Baseline Certifications.
  • Work location is on site.
  • Moderate travel required.
  • AA/AS in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training.
  • 1-3 years of experience
  • SEC+ is highly preferred
  • US Citizenship required
  • Position requires a SECRET clearance; candidate MUST be able obtain and maintain a SECRET clearance.
