HOW THE SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
Develops advanced technical solutions for the management of networks, software, hardware, configurations, and architectures
Troubleshoots highly complex system hardware and software issues
Develops training materials for end users on the proper use of hardware and software
Develops implementation plans for software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages
Monitors and tunes systems to achieve optimum performance levels
Ensures workstation/server data integrity by implementing standard software and hardware solutions
Leads efforts to ensure data/media recoverability by following a schedule of system backups and database archive operations
Conducts advanced hardware and software audits of workstations and servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines
Develops performance and security plans for computers that meet the needs of network users
Evaluates existing systems and plans long-term strategies
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
Education: BA/BS (or equivalent experience)
Required Experience: 6+ years of relevant experience
Security Clearance Level: TS/SCI w/Polygraph
Required Technical Skills: Experience with LINUX operating systems (e.g. RedHat, CentOS); Experience with automated provisioning technologies or methods such as Terraform, Chef and/or AWS bootstrapping via cloud-init scripts; Experience/knowledge of AWS to include EC2, EBS, ECS, VPC, ElasticCache, SQS, SNS
Required Skills and Abilities: Demonstrated strong understanding of proactive monitoring concepts; Knowledge with migration of applications and deployment of physical and virtual servers and deployment, configuration, and maintenance of server environments; Demonstrated experience and understanding of information security practices (e.g., cryptography, privilege separation, RBAC, INFOSEC, Auditing, Patching, Security Benchmark Compliance, OS hardening)
Preferred Skills: Experience discussing technical topics with non-technical people; Experience mentoring junior cyber engineers; Strong communication skills
