The Data Analyst provides analytical support and fulfill data requests and across divisions of a federal agency based in Washington, DC.
 

Duties include:

  • Design, develop and deploy interactive Tableau dashboards to deliver complex analysis, interpretation and actionable insights.

  • Develop and implement automated data preparation, cleaning and blending processes (Tableau Prep and R) to optimize critical data for analysis and visualization.

  • Compile metadata and developing data dictionaries.

  • Compile weekly and monthly reports for agency leadership

  • Perform big data mining, cleaning and manipulating using SQL and R to deliver statistical analyses and visualizations

  • Coordinate and conduct collaborative analyses and research projects

  • Conduct data and statistical analyses to interpret, relate and report results

  • Create documentation and presentations

This position is based at an office location in Washington, DC and requires a Public Trust (or the ability to obtain it). The candidate may be required to work outside of business hours including weekends based on need.

Education:

Requires BS/BA degree in a related field

Experience/Skills:

  • At least 4 years of experience with quantitative and qualitative data interpretation and analysis. 2 years with a Master’s degree.

  • Data Mining, Cleaning and Manipulating (SQL and R)

  • Working knowledge of data visualization platforms (Tableau, Power BI) and scripting languages (Python, R)

  • Understanding of relational and non-relational databases

  • Experience with Geospatial Mapping and Analysis

  • Advanced skills in Excel, Access, and Macros/VBA

  • Knowledge of Statistical analysis and modeling

  • Exceptional analytic skills

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Must be able to work independently
