The Data Analyst provides analytical support and fulfill data requests and across divisions of a federal agency based in Washington, DC.
Design, develop and deploy interactive Tableau dashboards to deliver complex analysis, interpretation and actionable insights.
Develop and implement automated data preparation, cleaning and blending processes (Tableau Prep and R) to optimize critical data for analysis and visualization.
Compile metadata and developing data dictionaries.
Compile weekly and monthly reports for agency leadership
Perform big data mining, cleaning and manipulating using SQL and R to deliver statistical analyses and visualizations
Coordinate and conduct collaborative analyses and research projects
Conduct data and statistical analyses to interpret, relate and report results
Create documentation and presentations
This position is based at an office location in Washington, DC and requires a Public Trust (or the ability to obtain it). The candidate may be required to work outside of business hours including weekends based on need.
Requires BS/BA degree in a related field
At least 4 years of experience with quantitative and qualitative data interpretation and analysis. 2 years with a Master’s degree.
Data Mining, Cleaning and Manipulating (SQL and R)
Working knowledge of data visualization platforms (Tableau, Power BI) and scripting languages (Python, R)
Understanding of relational and non-relational databases
Experience with Geospatial Mapping and Analysis
Advanced skills in Excel, Access, and Macros/VBA
Knowledge of Statistical analysis and modeling
Exceptional analytic skills
Strong attention to detail
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Must be able to work independently
