Our work depends on a Database Analyst Senior Advisor joining our team to support Enterprise Technology Services (ETS) for the United States Postal Service (USPS) activities located remotely.
You will be responsible for managing the design, planning, implementation, and administration of databases, including security, access, and documentation.

Analyzes customer requirements and develops technical solutions to complex problems.
May manage the development of database standards, policies, and SOPs and ensures their conformance with the USPS goals and company/customer objectives
Applies knowledge of API (Application Programming Interface) for data services and databases.
Designs, develops, builds, analyzes, evaluates, installs, and administers database management systems to include database modeling and design, relational database architecture, metadata and repository creation, and configuration management.
Designs and implements databases with respect to access methods, access time, batch processes, device allocation, validation checks, organization, ETL tasks, protection and security, documentation, and statistical methods
Prepares system requirements, source analysis, and process analyses and design throughout the database implementation.
Experience with database administration activities including; installation, configuration, monitoring, space management, database backup and recovery, and disaster recovery
Responsible for 24X7 production and maintenance support on a rotation basis for all database stand-alone and clustered instances
Responsible for monitoring database server health, disk performance, monitoring, and history tool
Defines and oversees database organizations, standards, controls, procedures, and documentation.
Provides technical consulting in the definition, design, and creation of a database environment.
Advises applications development staff and users on data-based solutions to business problems, data architectures, database management system facilities and capabilities, and the operation and tuning of databases.
Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.
Provides advanced guidance and leadership to less-experienced database personnel.
May serve as a team or task leader.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
BA/BS (or equivalent experience)
8+ years of experience as database base administrator for large and complex databases in production environment (MS SQL Server on Windows and Oracle on UNIX environment
Experience managing or supervising a small to medium team of multiple DBAs. Medium to High complexity

Please Note: The security clearance for this program requires the selected candidate to have resided in the US for the past five years. The selected candidate cannot have left the country for longer than 90 consecutive days and no more than 180 cumulative days.
The likely salary range for this position is $96,000 - $144,000, this is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary; rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
