GDIT has partnered with NASA to consolidate select Procurement, Finance, Human Resources and Information Technology activities from the ten NASA Centers into a single shared services center located at Stennis Space Center in southern Mississippi.
The NASA Shared Services Center (NSSC) mission is to provide timely, accurate, high quality, cost-effective, and customer focused support for selected NASA business and technical services.
GDIT has an opportunity at the NASA Shared Services Center (NSSC) for an HR Administration Specialist to contribute to our success in providing human resources administration support for NASA. This will be a full-time position at the NSSC onsite at Stennis Space Center, MS.
The HR Administration Specialist will provide administrative support to NASA HR Services to include administrative staffing and personnel action processing support.
Responsibilities & Duties:
Provide routine guidance to applicants involving recruitment and will research applicable guidelines to determine the best course of action for a particular staffing situation.
Conduct reviews of automated employee and position data prior to processing personnel actions to ensure compliance with Federal and NASA human resources regulations and policy guidelines.
Review each new hire personnel action processed within a pay period to ensure accuracy prior to payroll closeout.
Calculate service credit for enhanced leave purposes in accordance with Federal regulations by reviewing personnel service history to accurately produce an employee’s enhanced service computation date (SCD).
Ensure quality control of personnel actions, ensure the accuracy in accordance with the NSSC Personnel Action Processing (PAP) Request for Personnel Action (RPA) Submission Guide and ensure that employee and position data are accurately reflected in the appropriate HR systems.
Review existing work instructions, desk guides and training materials in support of the activity and provide recommended updates as needed.
Qualifications & Skills:
Minimum of 8 years of HR experience with administrative support to staffing and recruitment activities.
Knowledge of Office of Personnel Management (OPM) laws, regulations and standards to include The Guide to Processing Personnel Actions, The Guide to Personnel Recordkeeping, the Civil Service Retirement System (CSRS), CSRS Offset and Federal Employee Retirement System (FERS).
Experience and knowledge of PC-based computers and software experience using the Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Power Point, Excel, and Outlook.
