GDIT is looking for a CYBERSECURITY ENGINEER with experience and deep understanding of Host Based Security Systems (HBSS).
Experience with integrating HBSS is a must.
Prefer experience with or understanding of DISA’s Comply-to-Connect program, whether with Forescout or CISCO ISE.
Windows system administration experience required.
Linux system administration experience strongly desired.
Responsibilities include:
Work in conjunction with other vendors or SMEs to integrate HBSS compliancy for compliance automation tasks.
Develops advanced technical solutions for the management of software, hardware, configurations, and architectures. Provides interpretation to systems matters that are highly complex in nature.
Experience with HBSS, ePO, and McAfee.
Develops implementation plans for basic software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages
Advises less experienced personnel on the monitoring and tuning of systems to achieve optimum performance levels.
Work in conjunction with other vendors or SMEs to integrate HBSS results/reporting for compliance automation with other cybersecurity tools and systems.
Interprets, analyzes, and reports all events and anomalies in accordance with computer network directives, including initiating, responding, and reporting discovered events.
Evaluates, tests, recommends, coordinates, monitors, and maintains cybersecurity policies, procedures, and systems, including access management for hardware, firmware, and software.
Provides guidance and work leadership to less-experienced technical staff members
Develops techniques and procedures for conducting cybersecurity risk assessments and compliance audits, the evaluation and testing of hardware, firmware and software for possible impact on system security, and the investigation and resolution of security incidents such as intrusion, frauds, attacks or leaks
Conducts software and systems engineering and software systems research to develop new capabilities, ensuring cybersecurity is fully integrated. Conducts comprehensive technology research to evaluate potential vulnerabilities in cyberspace systems
Conducts risk assessment and provides recommendations for application design
Knowledgeable of the full range of security issues including architectures, firewalls, electronic data traffic, and network access
Integrate new architectural features into existing infrastructures, designs cybersecurity architectural artifacts, provides architectural analysis and relates existing system to future needs and trends, embeds advanced forensic tools and techniques for attack reconstruction, provides engineering recommendations, and resolves integration/testing issues
Has developed trusted relationships with customers
May coach and provide guidance to less-experienced professionals
May serve as a team or task lead
REQUIRED:
8+ years of total IT experience and at least 2+ years of HBSS experience
Must obtain/maintain required DoD 8570 Level II
Must have at least two of the following, prefer all:
HBSS training available from DISA
DISA HBSS Admin (201)
DISA HBSS Advance (301)
DISA HBSS Advanced Analyst (501)
CND-SP Infrastructure Support certifications.
Must have a current US SECRET Security Clearance with the ABILITY to obtain/maintain a TS SCI security clearance.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
BA/BS or equivalent combination of training, experience and education.
