Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Operations and maintenance of communications/computer systems and networks
• Installs communications/computer systems in accordance with the respective installation spec
• Troubleshooting and support of communications systems/networks
• Working knowledge of Cisco system support/maintenance, VMware ESXi system support/maintenance, Active Directory, Windows Server 2019, HBSS, ACAS, SQL, SolarWinds, and Splunk preferred
• End-user support and training on communications systems/networks
• Administer network/cyber security policies and procedures
• Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned
• Participates in special projects as required
• Focused on identifying customer needs and maintaining customer satisfaction
Must have a current DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification and active Secret security clearance

Education, Experience, and Clearance Requirements:

Current DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification and active Secret security clearance
Associate’s Degree in a related technical discipline or the equivalent certification/experience
3-5 years of directly related experience supporting network operations

Aptitude Focus:

Functional knowledge of routers, switches, and related network hardware and software
Functional knowledge of the principles and techniques used in network operations/maintenance
Functional knowledge of VMware hypervisor operations/maintenance
Functional knowledge of Microsoft/Linux operating systems
Functional knowledge of cyber security

Working Conditions:

The work is typically performed in an office environment and at the client site location in .  Work may require some physical effort in the handling of light materials, boxes or equipment.  The primary workspace is a 24/7/365 network maintenance center. This position is covered under a Collective Bargaining Agreement with the Communications Workers of America Local 1126 through June 2, 2022.
