GDIT is seeking a Systems Engineer Junior to provide onsite and remote support for multiple Force Protection System (FPS) Family of Systems (FOS) to the IBD-SS program with operations located at Fort Belvoir, VA.   We are looking for motivated self-starters who want to join a team dedicated to excellence and continuous progress.  Selected candidates will participate in engineering activities at any point in the system development life cycle including systems analysis/requirements definition, design, development, integration, testing, acceptance/deployment, sustainment/maintenance, and evaluation. Experience with Integrated Base Defense (IBD) Kitting, Entry Control Point (ECP), Non-Intrusive Inspection System (NIIS), Rapid Reaction Tunnel Detection (R2TD), Joint Defense Operation Center (JDOC), Combat Outpost Force Protection System (COSFPS), Base Expeditionary Targeting Surveillance System – Combined (BETSS-C), BETSS-C Cerberus Scout, BETSS-C Full Motion Video (FMV) , Bistatic Surveillance System (BSS), Rapid Deployment Integrated Surveillance System (RDISS), Force Protection (FP) Suite and Husky Mounted Detection System (HMDS, AN/VSS-6A) Suite of Systems is required.   Primary Responsibilities: - Utilize Subject Matter Expertise (SME) to provide solutions to a variety of problems, establishing Standard Operating Procedures, creating and maintaining documentation, and training materials in accordance with established configuration management, safety and quality assurance processes - Manage the full life cycle of mission systems to include researching, design, procurement, cataloging, installation, testing, and maintenance of Force Protection Systems - Collaborate with team members, government customers, and vendors to facilitate operational improvements and provide reach-back support to perform troubleshooting, maintenance, documentation distribution, sparing, and health reports - Perform moderately complex duties in administering network, servers, clients, and operating systems, including installing, configuring, testing, maintaining and troubleshooting assigned devices and software - Experience addressing diminishing manufacturing sources and materiel shortagesBA/BSRequired Skills: - BS degree and 4 years of relevant technical experience or AA degree and 6 years of relevant experience or HS diploma and 8 years of relevant experience - DoD 8570 technical certifications as directed by the government and Program Manager - US Government Secret or higher level security clearance as required Desired Skills: - Advanced experience/knowledge of IT principles and practices strongly desired such as certifications in Cisco, Microsoft, Linux, and/or VMWare for vSphere - Experience writing technical documentation, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and creating training materials. - Experience preparing Engineering Change Proposals (ECP) - Broad technology experience in systems engineering, FP systems, requirements tracking, testing and validation.
