GDIT is hiring a Regional Education Coordinator (REC) Manager to support the Defense & Veterans Brain Injury Center (DVBIC) located at DVBIC HQ in Silvr Spring MD. As a leader in traumatic brain injury research the Defense and Veterans Brain Injury Center (DVBIC) serves active duty military, veterans and their beneficiaries with coordinated care throughout 23 Army, Navy and Veterans Affairs medical treatment centers. General Dynamics Health Solutions' researchers and healthcare professionals treat and track more than 8,500 TBI patients a year to measure the impact of care on long term health and occupational outcomes. Conducting 72 different clinical research studies to include a 15-year congressional directed study our experts educate political leaders, caregivers, clinicians, and the general public to provide and improve evidence-based, best practice TBI care for service members, veterans and their families
The Regional Education Coordinator Manager will, in coordination with designated government leads (government Site Director and the government Lead at DVBIC Headquarters), work with all DVBIC Network Sites in the execution of government guidance through Network RECs.
Works directly with the RECs to coordinate education efforts across the network.
Assists the government leads to establish standards of performance and metrics.
Aggregates data to support computation and analysis of the metrics.
Conducts analysis, compiles and presents the metrics to the government leads.
Formulates and tracks plans (with milestones) to improve performance.
Reviews and develops standard operating procedures (SOPS) on an annual basis and updates same as needed Works to enrich and further educate current RECs on basic and advance TBI information Utilizes appropriate lines of authority for approval of education activities.
Demonstrates accountability for practice through planned and continuous professional growth.
Demonstrates sensitivity to diverse populations and excellent interpersonal skills.
In coordination with government leads, works with RECs to plan regional training events.
Provides guidance and outreach to VA, DoD and civilian population and caregivers related to TBI.
Creates and maintains a core set of information materials and services that will be used by RECs in the conduct of their duties
5 + years of related experience in the development and delivery of technical training programs.
Experience working with DoD/VA/community providers, patients and families with issues pertaining to TBI education and training.
Understanding of DoD and VA clinical networks to identify access points for training and education .
S/he must adhere to legal, professional and ethical codes with respect to confidentiality and privacy.
US Citizenship is required with the ability to obtain a favorable T3 security investigation.
Experience in the care of patients with TBI - in-patient, out-patient, or rehabilitation settings. DVBIC/DCoE background in TBI preferred.
