Job Description

GDIT is seeking a Project Manager in San Antonio, TX, who will serve as the single point-of-contact (POC) for the DHA. This position supports the mission of the Program Executive Officer (PEO) for Medical Systems/Chief Medical Officer (J-6) and will be responsible for the overall management, control, coordination, and execution of assigned projects. The PM will provide technical advice on engineering unique systems, applications, and functions.

In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Plan, initiate, and manage information technology projects
  • Plan project stages and assess business implications for each stage
  • Monitor progress to assure deadlines, standards and cost targets are met
  • Apply expertise on multiple complex work assignments, which may be broad in nature, requiring originality and innovation to accomplish
  • Provide status updates to clients, senior leadership, and other stakeholders
  • Collect and analyze data, and other information, to provide recommendations to stakeholders
  • Ensures all task areas meet cost, schedule, quality, and performance requirements
  • Responsible for identifying and analyzing significant deviations from plan, take corrective actions, and forecasts any impact on contract deliverables
  • Responsible for all communications regarding current and future requirements, performance, and ultimate programmatic success or failure.
  • Other duties and tasks as assigned
  • Lead and guide the work of technical staff
  • Serve as a liaison between business and technical aspects of information technology projects
  • Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders across various workgroups and departments within DHA
  • The PM ensures program integration across task areas, work groups, and functional/technical teams and delegates administrative, financial, and coordination duties as necessary
  • Ensures use of innovative processes to plan, organize, and control all project related activities, manage risks and to monitor performance
  • Drive effective teamwork, communication, collaboration, and commitment across multiple disparate groups with competing priorities

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, or training, or work experience
  • 6 + years experience managing projects
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) and ITIL 4 Foundation Certification required or has the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
  • Solid ITIL understanding/experience managing multiple projects
  • Experience with controlling costs and resources for large scale, complex projects
  • Proven experience supervising large IT services contracts and people of various skills and disciplines
  • Ability to lead and facilitate relations across internal and external stakeholders
  • US Citizenship
  • Ability to obtain a secret clearance

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledge and experience with DoD and MHS Governance construct and procedures
  • Technical and financial background
