General Dynamic Information Technology’s (GDIT’s) has an opportunity for a Lead Network Engineer working within the Defense Division, supporting an exciting new DoD program in Pensacola, Florida. The Lead Network Engineer will be in charge of keeping current communication networks/systems running smoothly and secure. The primary responsibility will be managing, monitoring and troubleshooting network infrastructure for both classified and non-classified networks. The candidate will provide day-to-day network engineering support including planning, implementation, administration, and support of the networks.
Detailed duties include:
Establishing network information requirements in the development of enterprise-wide or large-scale networking infrastructure (CAN, MAN, WAN).
Designing architecture to include the software, hardware and communications to support the total requirements
Ensuring network systems are compatible and in compliance with the standards for open systems architectures
Ensuring that the network/transport layers of the common operating environment are compliant.
Evaluating analytically and systematically problems of work flows and network usage, organization and planning and develops appropriate corrective action.
Providing daily supervision and direction to staff.
Technologies, techniques and frameworks desired:
Possess understanding of application of Software Defined Networking (SDN) fundamentals including Cloud programmable network environments
Expertise in architecting and implementing hardware and virtualized back-end networking components
Understanding transport architectures, and best practice for efficiency for large-scale IoT-like sensor grid / backhauling
Understand and can apply skills for multi-classification solutions like Cross Domain, and NSA Commercial Solutions for Classified program
Understanding and can apply knowledge to Cloud connectivity with respect to DoD Cloud access points
Specific technology knowledge desired includes: Juniper; Cisco; Taclane encryptors; 1Gb and 10Gb Ethernet; Fibre Channel; and Infiniband; f5 Global and Local Traffic managers
BA or BS in technical discipline.
At least 10 years' experience supporting operations for a global organization
Minimum of IAT Level II certification required – CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND or SSCP
Significant experience working with Enterprise level customers
Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
Clearance level: Top Secret required
