Come join GDIT team working with Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) seeking a Systems Administrator Associate in support of our DARPA Multi-Network Support Services (MNSS) program in Arlington, Virginia.

Systems Administrator Associate
Maintains an organizations computer systems workflows and is responsible for the upkeep, configuration and reliable operation of computer systems, including fixing network issues along with updating equipment and software. Creates and administers profiles and accounts and maintains systems documentation.  Tunes system performance for optimal conditions. Installs system-wide software.

The candidate should be able to:

  • Follows defined standard operating procedures; assists with routine technical support in the management of networks, software, hardware, configurations, and architectures.
  • With the guidance of management, helps troubleshoot system hardware and software issues.
  • Assist end users on the proper use of hardware and software with close oversight from management.
  • Under close supervision, performs basic software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages.
  • Under close supervision monitors and tunes the system to achieve optimum performance levels.
  • Provides assistance with workstation/server data integrity by implementing standard software and hardware solutions.
  • Under the guidance of management, ensures data/media recoverability by following a schedule of system backups and database archive operations.
  • With close supervision, conducts basic hardware and software audits of workstations and servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines.
  • Under the guidance of management, ensures that performance and security of computers meet the needs of network users.
  • Applies broad theoretical job knowledge typically obtained through advanced education.

Qualifications:

  • AA/AS, 3 years of experience
  • Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner
  • Upon start of employment on contract, must meet DOD 8570.1M certification: e.g. GIAC Security Essentials – GSEC, CompTIA Security+ CE, Security Certified Network Professional – SCNP, Systems Security Certified Practitioner - SSCP
  • Active DoD Secret Level Security Clearance
