NCIS NetApp Administrator Lead

Join GDIT and be a part of the team of men and women that solve some of the world’s most complex technical challenges. The Navy NCIS program is searching for a NetApp Administrator Lead to join their team in Quantico, VA.

The Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) is an organization of over 2,200 personnel of which 700 serve at HQ and the remaining staff serve at offices worldwide. NCIS is the Department of Navy (DON) component with primary responsibility for criminal investigation, law enforcement (LE), counter-terrorism (CT), counterintelligence (CI), and cyber matters.  NCIS not only has primary responsibility for all criminal investigative, CI, CT, and cyber matters within the DON, but it also has exclusive investigative jurisdiction in non-combat matters involving actual, potential, or suspected criminal, terrorism, sabotage, espionage, and subversive activities. 

This position is part of the IT Technology Development division within the NCIS DBD organization and performs the following functions: 

The primary Lead for NetApp storage systems:

• Performs as a Lead and will direct and provide tasks to other employees.
• Performs capacity management efforts for day-to-day storage operations
• Provides senior level storage support to include storage expansion, in-depth troubleshooting, network changes, and more
• Primary POC with NetApp vendors regarding support requirements
• Performs storage implementations to include: CIFS, NFS, iSCSI SAN, LIF management, and more
• Manages aggregate/volume space
• Coordinates storage requirements with application SMEs and implements
• Primary backup and recovery operations leveraging SnapCenter (Exchange/SQL) and Data Broker integration for VMware
• Supports storage life-cycle processing to include ONTAP updates and filer upgrades
• Produces and updates technical documentation
• Coordinates system and application software updates
• Assists in the development and maintenance of internal standards and controls in accordance with customer policies and procedures

Required Experience:

• BS degree; additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree
• 5+ years of support with NetApp ONTAP 9.X
• Experienced with Clustered Data ONTAP and 7-Mode versions
• Familiar with client server operating systems to troubleshoot problem resolution with application admins
• Experienced with NetApp snapshot technology to include leveraging FlexClone and snap restore as required
• Experience with SnapMirror and SnapVault technology
• Ability to take lead on troubleshooting non-routine system/service disruptions
• ONTAP operations using the CLI as well as PowerShell Toolkit functions
• Security+
• TS/SCI
