Job Summary
Maintains organization computer systems workflows and is responsible for the upkeep, configuration, and reliable operation of shipboard computer systems, including fixing network issues along with updating equipment and software. Provides technical advice and guidance on installation, adaptation, configuration, and/or enhancement of company technical products, programs, and systems. Utilize analytical and critical thinking to troubleshoot issues and problems with equipment or systems. Apply theories and write reports to outline issues and solutions. Travels to sites to perform repairs and troubleshoot problems. Prepares incident/performance reports and trainings for customers.
Job Description
Develops technical solutions for the management of networks, software, hardware, configurations, and architectures
Troubleshoots complex system hardware and software issues
Trains end users on the proper use of hardware and software
Performs advanced software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages
-Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electronic cryptologic and ancillary systems.
-UNIX based operating systems + BIOS familiarity from a maintenance and operational perspective.
-Ability to work independent of supervision and be self-motivated to complete tasks and initiate improvements.
-Must have Security+ at a minimum and certified on one, or more of the following Operating Systems: Linux and/or Sun-Solaris.
It is desired that this should include 6 years full-time hands-on experience in installation, troubleshooting, repairing, and/or testing of any one major shipboard system/equipment. The requirement for full time experience precludes concurrent experience on more than one system/equipment unless they are all equivalent in complexity and maintenance philosophy.
Must have active Top Secret clearance and be SCI eligible
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: AA/AS (or equivalent experience), Security+, Linux+, 6+ years of experience, and a TS/SCI Clearance.
