This position supports the clearance investigation office of the sponsor organization. The office is responsible for the oversight, administration and execution of the sponsor's background investigations program. The selected candidate will interact with local law enforcement entities, staff and contract investigators, and internal customers. The candidate will work with four others who each have their own area of focus but may be called upon to assist in other areas in case of absence or large workload.

The candidate will interact with internal and external customers and sources of information. The candidate must possess excellent interpersonal skills in order to develop strong working relationships with both internal and external customers. This pos1t1on requires interaction with many levels, up to and including group and division management. This program requires weekly visits to local law enforcement entities in the Washington Metropolitan area - a 60 mile round trip drive twice a week making four stops using a sponsor-owned vehicle.

The candidate must possess a valid driver's license. 

Given the heavy volume. the candidate tracks law enforcement records requests. quality assurance letters. and investigators' locations in Microsoft Excel. The candidate will use Outlook for email to administer the quality assurance program. The candidate will also complete vouchers and utilizes various internal financial databases to complete payment of monthly and quarterly billing The candidate will provide mentoring support to the department's junior level administrators. 

This program requires weekly visits to law enforcement offices in multiple jurisdictions in the Northern Virginia area. The candidate will collect requests from the local investigators and utilize a sponsor-owned vehicle to deliver and later retrieve those checks from local police departments. Upon receipt of the checks, the candidate distributes the completed checks to the entire investigative cadre in the department. The checks are included as part of the completed background investigation. Candidate will receive training on how to interact with outside law enforcement personnel and supporting documentation to establish candidate's bona fides. Candidate will manage, under direction of the sponsor management, the issuance and return of sponsor credentials for new and departing investigators. This program requires extensive interaction to coordinate identification pictures, production of credentials, distribution of credentials, and return of credentials no longer required. In addition, the candidate may also be asked to procure business cards and other identification from an external customer for investigator use. 

Candidate may occasionally be called upon to assist with management of the department's fleet of 70+ vehicles even though this is typically handled by another member of the same department. Candidate will field daily "check in" calls from investigators to account for their daily locations. 

Candidate will manage several ongoing financial accounts, in coordination with finance team review. to ensure that outgoing payments are made on a timely basis. The primary accounts include phone billing for the department's cell phones. EZ Pass billing for the vehicle fleet. and mailing costs incurred when forwarding information/material via a package delivery system to the department's field agents.

Candidate will assist and provide guidance to staff in the administration of the department's quality assurance letter program. Duties include the random forwarding of quality assurance notes via internal email to sponsor employees and contractors who were recently interviewed by an investigator. A specified number of quality assurance letters are forwarded for every investigator on a quarterly basis. The letters provide critical feedback on the performance of the investigators during the interview process.

Candidate will participate in monthly meetings with department management and the administrative staff and provide updates and progress on any assigned accounts.

Candidate will assist with meeting room reservations and managing investigator's leave calendar.
