At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As a Systems Engineer supporting our client these are some of the responsibilities and tasks during a typical day:
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
Experience developing on the ServiceNow platform including the creation and/or customization of the core applications such as Incident, Problem, Change, Service Request, Service Catalog
Strong knowledge of the ServiceNow data model and relationships
Proficient in ServiceNow development of workflows, custom web services, custom notifications, assessments, custom app
Experience administering a ServiceNow instance including the delegation of groups, modification of CMS, workflows, business rules, UI pages, UI actions, UI policies, ACLs, catalog items and updates of all other existing solutions requiring revision
Performs and may provide guidance on all phases of the software development lifecycle.
Reviews software requirements and business requirements and plans and builds creative solutions to meet customer needs while following industry standards and best practices.
May provide guidance for less-experienced software developers in creating a variety of models and diagrams that show programmers the software code needed for an application.
Performs and provides guidance on software updates, refinement, testing, and debugging to meet business needs.
Provides relevant analysis for reports on software project specifications, activities, or status.
Thoroughly documents the software or system process for future maintenance and updates.
Interacts with customers and development team to gather and define requirements. May provide guidance and work leadership to less-experienced analysts or serve as team or task lead.
Provide full lifecycle software development to include the designing, development, testing, documenting and maintaining of software applications. Builds new software, maintains existing custom-developed software and supports COTS/GOTS software products as needed
Maintains current knowledge of rapidly changing technology, always on the lookout for new technologies, and works with management to evolve current processes
Invents innovative ways to drive production operational efficiency
Drives scalability and operability of supported systems/infrastructure
Provides system/equipment/specialized training and technical guidance
May coach and provide guidance to less-experienced professionals
May serve as a team or task lead
WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience ,
8+ years of relevant Systems Engineering work experience
One of the following DoD approved certifications is necessary to meet the category/level IAT-2 (DoD 8570) requirement for this position: Security+, GSEC, SSCP, CCNA-Security, CISA, CISSP (or Associate), CASP, GCIH, or GCED.
ITIL v3 Certification preferred
Familiar with software development and diagnostic tools
