Develops; organizes; and conducts training and educational programs for Fleet sailors in support of Aegis Training and Readiness Center in Dahlgren, Virginia. Training program requires ability to conduct traditional classroom instruction and support tactical lab training; Experience in Navy Surface Ship Combat Systems operations and training  including coordinating and administering utilizing technical training equipment, tactical and emulation based simulations and computer/web based courseware.  Experience as an instructor in a Naval Training Environment including management of instructor qualifications and instructor task planning. Candidate would serve as ATRC Site Lead and train CG/DDG sailors in tactical employment of the Aegis combat system and associated weapons systems, system capabilities and limitations, employment of automated systems, mission planning and execution, and tactical communications.  When required, the candidate would provide oversight in support of curriculum development for ATRC courses supporting operational employment of Aegis Combat System.

Performs a variety of complex administrative and analytical tasks in support of AEGIS Training program.

Develops plans, manages employees and schedules, and monitors tasks to meet contractual/project requirements.

Establishes and defines program plan requirements and performs in-depth studies to determine optimum program plans.

Monitors and reports performance against policies to ensure contractual, training, and schedule objectives are met.

Interacts regularly with customers and other industry representatives to ensure conformance to customer requirements.

Plans, coordinates, and advertises training opportunities for our customer including development of a comprehensive training plan and related training materials. 

Works with SMEs and vendors to develop training content and the best methods for delivery of that content.

Conducts periodic reviews of Training Materials for accuracy and currency.  Accomplished updates when changes to systems, processes, or procedures require it. 

Tracks participation by mode of training, conducts customer satisfaction surveys, and reports results to the Program Manager regularly.

Submits timely, complete, well-written & accurate inputs for all required reports.

Responsible for overall management and success of training plan to include employee green boards, Individual Development Plans and certification program.

Submits quarterly inputs for the Quality Assurance Surveillance Plan (QASP) documenting quality of work and noteworthy accomplishments by Team GDIT Trainers.

Provides leadership, input, and experience of continuous improvement strategies to enhance the work environment.

Enhances the effectiveness of two-way communications during staff meetings, group meetings, and virtual meetings.

Ensures products are delivered and customer feedback results are positive (i.e., CPAR, Award fee scores, program manager feedback, etc.).

Energizes team members and builds effective relationships through attentive listening, participation and encouragement of ideas. May perform business development activities.

May provide guidance and work leadership to less-experienced employees.

Participates in special projects as required.


Bachelor's Degree in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications, training, or work/military experience.


Seven (7) years of experience with the required system or process as either a maintenance technician manager or operator manager with responsibility for teaching the applicable system or function task to others in a master level training environment. Experience as a qualified TAO and/or Warfare Coordinator which requires relevant experience as Warfare Commander/Coordinator for Surface, Subsurface, Air, Strike, C4I, or Ballistic Missile Defense is required. Of the seven (7) years, one (1) year of experience as an instructor in a Navy Training Environment, to include curriculum maintenance, writing learning objectives, preparing test items, evaluating instructional materials and the results of instruction and counseling students on academic learning problems including one (1) year relevant experience interfacing with training systems/simulations for effective and correct presentation of learning objectives.

Experience as a qualified TAO and/or Warfare Coordinator. Master/Afloat Training Specialist in support of CSCS/TACTRAGRU/ATG is a significant plus.  Must be able to support training with extended periods on your feet while instructing. Travel may be required up to 5% of time.
