Job Description

The Project Engineer (PE) performs project management activities and coordination for Information Technology services to execute assessment, integration, and demonstration project events.  This position employs typical project management tools (resource estimates, task analysis, schedule deconfliction, customer communications, team leadership, risk mitigation, lessons learned) to plan the project, lead the design and build or modification of the appropriate network environment, manage the use of the network environment during lab events, and act as government project lead’s primary contract lead throughout the events. 

In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Provide CONUS and OCONUS travel in support of events. Travel required 25-50 %.
  • Provide engineering expertise to CIAV assessment methodology for coalition information exchange requirements in support of Combatant Command (CCMD), Mission Partner Environment (MPE) and Federated Mission Networking (FME) assessment requirements relative to data sharing with mission partners.
  • Serve as Planning/Execution Analyst and Event Lead responsible for research, site configuration requirements, use case development, and data analysis during Desktop Analysis (DTA) and Assurance and Validation (A&V) events.
  • Coordinate with DDC5I Engineering Division personnel to ensure coalition verification and validation laboratory systems are operational and configured to support planned events and ensure engineering and system administration support is available during assessment periods.
  • Manage laboratory assessments of coalition information exchange events.
  • Coordinate and participate with internal and external organizations in regularly scheduled or ad hoc engineering or event related meetings in person, telephonically, or virtually.
  • Identify modeling and simulation requirements.
  • Assist with test and development of new or existing systems to meet CIAV needs.
  • Recommend emergent technologies that may improve current processes.
  • Develop project documentation, system procedures, presentations, and training materials.
  • Provide guidance and leadership to staff.
  • Maintain knowledge of relevant technologies and subject areas.

Qualifications

  • Active DoD TS/SCI clearance
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Computer Science or related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience. 
  • Educational equivalency for this position is defined as at least twelve (12) years of experience
  • Must have valid passport and willing to travel OCONUS

Desired Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience with service and/or joint command and control computer systems.
Travel Required: 25-50%
