Collects and analyzes complex information from system users and formulates the scope, objectives and solutions for systems needs with limited supervision.
Prepares moderately complex flow charts, models, and procedures along with conducting feasibility studies to design possible system solutions.
Conducts advanced form design and layout activities with limited guidance from manager.
Performs preparation of systems specifications.
Under limited supervision, prepare and maintain technical documentation to guide system users and to assist with the ongoing operation, maintenance, and development of systems.
Applies practical knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education and work experience. May provide guidance to less-experienced personnel.
Performs detailed analysis and systems design.
May coach and review the work of less-experienced professionals.
Must have experience with:
Support of the United States Marine Corps (USMC), Manpower and Reserve Affairs, personnel records.
Total Force Data Warehouse (TFDW) Subject Matter Expert (SME) job functions. .
Consultation to users to develop the best methods for pulling and delivering records to protect sensitive data.
Supporting Manpower Information Technology data analysts by providing technical assistance as well as guidance on requirements gathering in order to fulfill requests for information.
Supporting qualitative analyses of manpower statistical records, research studies, and Naval Postgraduate School thesis data.
Providing on-site software help desk support to end users of a data warehouse and financial enterprise planning capability for the United States Marine Corps. Creation/modification of OLAP cubes using Cognos Transformer from multiple data sources.
Development of complex Cognos Analytics reports involving drill up, drill down and master/detail querying of personnel records.
Post implementation support and modification of existing commercial off-the-shelf data warehousing and analytics solutions.
Managing Operational Data Store Enterprise (ODSE) and TFDW requests for Data/Info.
Providing information security and assurance knowledge to ensure a high level of cyber security across M&RA systems.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: BA/BS (or equivalent experience), 8+ years of USMC application systems experience, ability to obtain IT-2 level clearance
