At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As an Applications Tester supporting the customer, you will assist in the testing and evaluation of a variety of software and web based processes. The ideal candidate enjoys working across teams in an experimental, idea-filled culture. In this role, a typical day will include:
Developing and implementing quality control methodologies to ensure high-quality products
Developing and executing software test plans to identify problems and their causes
Establishing and maintaining processes for evaluating software and associated documentation
Participating in formal and informal reviews at pre-determined points throughout the development life cycle
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
Minimum of 15 years related experience or relevant combination of education and experience.
Familiarity with various SDLC methodologies, including but not limited to Agile
A deep understanding of different software testing methodologies
Strong experience with automated testing tools, and an ability to conduct manual testing when necessary
Experience working as part of an Agile team utilizing Scrum, Kanban, or other Agile methodologies
Experience with the DevSecOps pipeline projects
Experience running automated tests for web front ends, web services, APIs, and databases
Strong experience documenting technical processes in repositories including but not limited to Git
Excellent communication skills, especially the ability to explain complex technical issues to a nontechnical audience
Intellectual curiosity, creativity, and motivation to deliver the best solution to complex problems
A team player works well in a customer-focused and collaborative environment
Must stay up-to-date with industry standards for technological enhancements and changes, and to propose changes to internal processes as deemed feasible and appropriate
Security Clearance Level: Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph
Experience with accessibility and performance testing
Experience with ETL processes
Familiarity with AWS infrastructure and its native data science capabilities
Experience with relational databases, ideally Oracle using SQL
Experience manipulating large datasets (e.g. R, SAS, etc.)

Design and implement complex testing plans for IT related products and services
Identify test procedures and scenarios for the quality control of IT products and services
Use subject matter expertise to help resolve defects and errors of IT products
Assesses performance of IT products and services to ensure they meet established quality standards
Leads the collection and communication of quantitative and qualitative findings from test results to various IT teams
Provides subject matter expertise to resolve highly complex product issues and track progress
Identify areas for improvement to enhance product efficiency
Ensure that the final product satisfies the product requirements and meet end-user expectations
Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology and trends in IT quality assurance. Provides expert guidance and leadership to less-experienced personnel
May serve as a task or project leader (Not a people manager)
Recognized as a subject matter expert
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: BA/BS (or equivalent experience), 15+ years of experience.
