GDIT – Federal Civilian Division is looking for a detail oriented, personable, multi-tasking Videographer/ Photographer/ Editor to join our team to support a Department of the Army Public Affairs Office. 

This position works on a hybrid schedule, working at the Ft. Detrick location at least 2 days per week.

In this role you will:

  • Provide photography, videography and media editing services
  • Attend events, take photographs and/or videos, then edit them complying with local, state, and federal public affairs policies, procedures and initiatives
  • Develop and upload content on the Defense Visual Information Distribution Service (DVIDS), Facebook, Flickr, Twitter, and YouTube
  • Plan and design content for the Command’s website
  • Inform the public and stakeholders of key customer messages by interviewing personnel and writing articles
  • Provide administrative and media support at Trade Shows and Conferences
  • Assist in serving as an educational resource to media inquiries and connecting them with subject matter experts
  • Form partnerships and maintain strong relationships with U.S. Army organizations
  • Participate in special projects as required

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, or a related discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, professional training, or work experience
  • 2+ years of related media support experience
  • Experience using the following video editing software:  Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe Media Encoder or comparable software
  • Experience with Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator, or comparable software
  • Ability to successfully communicate with personnel at various echelons using effective interpersonal and communication skills in addition to managing numerous efforts and effectively prioritizing and multi-tasking requirements
  • Must be U.S. citizen and be able to obtain a NACI (T1) public trust

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with Adobe After Effects
