Conducts classroom and shipboard hands-on watch-team training for tactical watch standers and technicians on surface combatants in the operation and tactical employment of the Aegis and/or Ships Self Defense Systems (SSDS) and associated systems and create, review, and update course curriculum for all CIC Team Training courses taught under the CSCS Advanced Warfare Training program and support Aegis/SSDS/CICTT/AWT Phase 0 team trainers.
Coordinates the development and delivery of complex Team Training programs and related materials in support of customer training objectives.
Establishes and reviews course content and objectives.
Provide assistance to government representatives/stakeholders with determining applicability of current tactics, Techniques, procedures, and principles.
Maintains records of training activities (via Integrated Performance Assessment Tool), participant progress, and program effectiveness.
Provide instructor training on the Aegis and SSDS.
Provides work leadership to lower level employees, including evaluating the effectiveness of their training presentations and programs, and may have supervisory responsibilities.
May serve as CIC Training technical team or task lead.
Conducts research into new threats and current tactics in evaluating systems capabilities.
Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.
Participates in special projects as required.
Bachelors Degree in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications, training, or work/military experience.
Five (5) years of experience with the required system or process as either a maintenance technician or operator with responsibility for teaching the applicable system or function task to others in an apprentice level training environment. Of the three years, one (1) year experience as an instructor in a Navy Training Environment, to include curriculum maintenance, writing learning objectives, preparing test items, evaluating instructional materials and the results of instruction and counseling students on academic learning problems.
Travel may be approximately 5% of the time.
