The Administrative Assistant II will serve as a critical member of the front office team, which has leadership and oversight of four offices various training activities. The selected candidate will serve to keep senior front office management apprised of breaking issues. The selected candidate will work closely with all of the centers to create products in response to branch or related group taskings. Such products will include spot reports, memoranda, secure electronic communications, programmatic/resource requirements and other administrative taskings. The selected candidate will serve as a focal point for externally and internally generated taskings and projects. The selected candidate will track the progress of significant issues and ensure they are given appropriate attention. The successful candidate will be highly organized, and have excellent writing, editing, and proofing skills, and may be sometimes expected to produce shorter, polished, pieces with little prep time. The candidate will need to exhibit initiative, critical thinking, and a highly developed sense of teamwork to work collaboratively across branches and enterprises. The selected candidate will work closely with and solicit input from the schools to craft thoughtful, well-reasoned, integrated written responses to external and internal taskings. There will be no backup duties. A flex schedule may be allowed, however, the general expectation will be for them to arrive no earlier than 0630 and leave no later than 1700 , Monday through Friday. There may be extraordinary situations in which overtime may be requested. The candidate will not be asked to travel, but may rarely be asked to go to a McLean, Virginia or another Washington Metro Area location. In these instances, they will be asked to drive their personally owned vehicle (up to 25 miles one-way) and will be reimbursed for travel expenses.
