Responsible for Next Generation Desktop Engineering UNIX/Linux servers, the operating systems software, and its successful integration with the hardware and applications software of the major computing systems across the organization. Plans, tests, installs, and integrates new and upgraded versions of the relevant Desktop systems on organizational computer systems such as Trusted Thin Client, (ForcePoint solution) all third-party software components, and subsystems.
Conducts system security engineering activities (Linux Focused). Install, monitor and tune Linux Server operating system software and virtual machine sub-system software.
Capture and refine client requirements and ensures that the requirements are effectively integrated into information technology component products and information systems through purposeful design, development, and configuration.
Provide expert level technical consultation to the development team to support the design process including Cross Domain Solution
Employ best practices when implementing patch management / vulnerability management in the Linux construct.
Perform research, analysis, and design for all Linux computing systems and the network infrastructure.
Develop, implement, and document formal configuration guides as needed.
Provide security controls and maintain necessary network/data separation.
Ensure that essential services are installed on supported versions of OS and keep the versions of the services themselves up to date.

Experience with DoD vulnerability analysis and Industry Best Business Practices
Quick learner, able to learn new software and technologies
Must have strong experience with Linux/Unix.
Experience in standing up new services and tools on virtual machines within a Linux environment.
Experience with Gitlab, Docker, and repo mirrors.
Experience with Python. PowerShell, and Bash scripting.
Familiar with VMware ESXi and VSphere.
Familiar with virtualization network on multiple classifications
Familiar with Citrix or VMware VDI architecture

Associates Degree + 8 years
Bachelor's Degree + 6 years
Master's Degree + 4 years
PhD + 2 years
TS/SCI with CI Polygraph
Candidates must be willing and able to attain a CI Polygraph if one is not already held
